Hi, I am trying to import all medatlas format data and especially the CTD medatlas data in odv.I create a new collection and i use as definition of collection variables the Medatlas CTD variables. Then i import the profile data (import -> Medatlas Formats -> Prfile data , and 0 stations imported. I am interested especially in chlorophyll and fluorescence data of Medatlas CTD data. Can anyone help? Thanks.. |

Hi Anastasia, some minutes ago I successfully imported 35000 stations from 426 Medatlas CTD files by following the steps from your description. It seems like I need some additional information from you. What ODV version do you use and on which operation system does it run ? Would it be possible to send some of your CTD files to odv@awi.de for us to check what's going wrong ? Cheers, Stephan |

Dear Stefan, I don't know what is going wrong.I use the odv version 4.3.8 in Windows Vista home premium. I m creating the collection (File -> New -> name) and then i select Medatlas CTD->ok. Then i do these steps..Import -> medtatlas formats -> profile data -> i select the collection that i created -> ok. Then in the window import options i select as source file variables the chlorophyll a and the fluorescence, i click on assosiate and then ok and no stations imported. A message tell to me that the file that i have created contained no data. Also, i have download the Medatlas data from the official site of odv.When I open the data with odv and i do right click on the map -> station selection criteria -> availability,then only pressure ,salinity, temperature and oxygen exist. How can i found the chlorophyll and the fluorescence? Many thanks... Anastasia. |

Hi Anastasia, in line 3 of your description you wrote: Then i do these steps..Import -> medtatlas formats -> profile data -> i select the collection that i created -> ok. Here you have to select files that are in the MedAtlas format not the previously created odv-collection. What you want to do is to import the original MedAtlas data files into your newly created odv-collection (which is still empty). The MedAtlas odv-collections that are provided on our website ran through this process as well. Since the MedAtlas CTD collection ("MedatlasII_Ctd.var") only stores Pressure, Temperature, Salinity and Oxygen values you won't find no chlorophyll data. When I opened the Bottle collection ("MedatlasII_Btl.var") the ODV availability information showed that there are some (very few) chlorophyll values.
