Hello,
I would like to make several maps (longitude - latitude) showing the stations distribution for each standard depth.
Is it possible to make with the ODV?
For the surface I know that it is possible but the variable z chosen in this case is temperature (or other) @ depth [m]=first, not enabling to change the variable depth...
Waiting for your reply.
Thank you so much!
Patricia

Hi Patricia,
The 'Isosurface Variables' dialog should be what you are looking for. Simply select 'View' -> 'Isosurface Variables' from the main menu. Here you can set the 'Depth' value to whatever you want. If you are not familiar with the dialog take a look at the user's guide chapter 7.
Cheers, Stephan

Thank you so much for your help Stephan!
Indeed it works for some depths (first, 300, 400 and 500) but the others if simply show a square with "NO DATA"... I really don't understand!
For example, observing the right lateral display of ODV, for one station I have 25 samples of temperature and salinity for 25 standard depths (0 to 1750m) (seeing in the middle panel: "Sample: 1/25" .
But then I look below in the lower panel: "Isosurface Values" and for all the variables that I had created in 'View' -> 'Isosurface Variables' from the main menu, I only have existing values of temperature and salinity in the depth: 0, 300, 400 and 500.
Did I make my self clear? Sorry for my explanation...
Could you help me please?
Thank you so much!
Patricia

Just to post the solution:
After I close the program and reload the odv file, all the isosurface variables that I had created had disappeared... Again (for only the temperature variable) I had created each depth layer on 'View' -> 'Isosurface Variables' from the main menu. Magically after I made OK all the layer had a correspondent temperature value, possible to visualize in the lower panel on the right side of the window program... I don't know what I could make different than previous, but now it is working!
The plot showing the stations distribution is possible to do in this way that I found in the OVD4guide.pdf (page 89):
- with the cursor above the map that we want to do the stations distribution plot (with the map of isosurface variable for a corresponding depth) we hit F4 and it is show the "Windows Statistics". There is a button were the program make the stations distribution, the "X/Y Distribution". Hitting this button it is only necessary to save the file in the picture format that we wanted and the resolution that we need!
With this tool it is possible to make many different things, such as: the data distribution in latitude, longitude, time and season!
I though that this solution could be very useful to others users of the program, and so I had posted the solution for my problem!
Thanks again Stephan, your guiding had make me open my mind to others tools of the program!
