Dear ODV User:
The RTOPO bathymetry of
Timmermann, R., A. Le Brocq, et al. (2010). A consistent data
set of Antarctic ice sheet topography, cavity geometry, and
global bathymetry. Earth Syst. Sci. Data 2(2): 261-273
is now available for use in ODV as tiled map resources covering
the Southern Ocean (1, 2 and 6 minute resolution).
Please see chapter 2.12 in the ODV User's Guide for instructions
on how to install and use these resources.

Hi,
The RTOPO map resources cannot be used for bathymetry purposes. If you want to create an ODV bathymetry file like GEBCO1.nc, here's what you need to look for in order to obtain the original dataset:
Timmermann, R., A. Le Brocq, et al. (2010). "A consistent data set of Antarctic ice sheet topography, cavity geometry, and global bathymetry." Earth Syst. Sci. Data 2(2): 261-273.
Concerning your second question: The RTOPO map resources provided by ODV contain the Southern Hemisphere south of 45°S.
Cheers, Stephan
