Hi,

Can anyone tell me if there is a simple way to run ODV on 64-bit Ubuntu 12.04?

By the way, are there any plans to release a 64 bit version, now that 64 bit is becoming more common (it is now the default download for Ubuntu, Mint and Fedora)?

Thanks,
Matt

Hi Matt:

We are considering producing a 64-bit ODV, but this does not have top priority and may take a while.

Other users have successfully run the 32-bit ODV on 64-bit Linux systems, such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.8 and Scientific Lunix 6.2. As a requirement, the host system needs to have the 32-bit run-time libraries installed. On some systems this package is called "ia32-libs". Please report back whether installing "ia32-libs" makes a difference.

Regards, Reiner

Thanks Reiner,

There is an Ubuntu package called ia32-libs, as you described. I installed this and everything now works.

Regards,
Matt
